During this week of development, we had a little talk about the importance of Version Control within our games development so that we can easily keep track of the different versions and implementations of our games. Following this I attempted to set up GitLab and Gitkracken however, because of some technical issues during the setup process me and the rest of the class unfortunately did not get to set it up this week which led me to start my version controlling using a USB memory stick. Furthermore this week, I spent some time doing some level designing and gameplay planning from the likes of drawing what I imagine the map to look like as well as what I imagine the flow of the game will be.

Later on in the week I also had a rather fascinating talk about 3D modeling which made me consider the possibility of making Kessler a 3D game or even possibly a 2.5D game with some elements to make it look 3D however, after considering the time that would take and the scope that I have for my games development (showcased above) and considering my limited knowledge of 3D modeling software's I have decided to stick with the idea of having my game be 2D.

Towards the latter end of the week I Turned my attention to a new and crazily useful AI system called ChatGPT after a while of messing around with it I understood its potential and used it to help me generate ideas that I will later use to inform my design and Lore piece decisions later down the development pipeline.

I also received valuable tutorials and recommendations from Maddi, A Ph.D. student proficient in Unity, which helped me understand what I needed to do and how to do the things I want within Unity to move forward with the development of the game.

During this week of game development, I worked on setting up version control using GitLab and Gitkracken but encountered technical issues and resorted to using a USB memory stick. I also did level designing and gameplay planning, considered making the game 3D but decided to stick with 2D due to limited knowledge of 3D modelling software, and used an AI system called ChatGPT to generate ideas.
